Ego5 -

Electronically the Ego borrows much from the EclipseBlade stable, utilizing the tried and tested components of the original EclipseBlade and incorporating many of the newer features found in the E2. The cool blue backlit graphical LCD provides all of the information that you will need including firing mode, breech sensor status, adjustable game timer, shot counter and rate of fire indicator. A user friendly menu system allows all of the control parameters to be adjusted on-gun using three pushbuttons at the rear of the grip-frame, along with a fourth located inside the frame for tournament legality. Advanced trigger debounce algorithms mean that when configured correctly, Ego will not fall foul of the chrono judge and the low profile break-beam breech sensor provides a reliable anti chop solution, which allows the gun to shoot as fast as your loader can feed. The single, low power electro-pneumatic solenoid is one of the smallest in its class and the overall power consumption of the electronics means that 250,000 shots from a standard 9V battery is not unrealistic.

And as for the included accessories, you get the super-slick Eclipse On/Off/Purge system, the Eclipse Shaft Solo Barrel (.693), Clamping feed neck, Eclipse-Samurai 3 Swoop magnoptic fully adjustable 3-point trigger, Multi-density wrap-around grips, hose, elbows, the lot, all as standard, all in matching Eclipse Anodised finishes.

In my opinion, go with the etek, or hell even Ego7 :p the Etek is newer, its pretty much the same as an Ego but without an LCD screen, and QEV's on the rammer.

I was always under the impression that the ETEKS were never designed to compare with the Ego range.

I thought the ETEK was eclipse attempt at a mid-range affordable performance marker.

and the Ego is eclipse's top of the range Performance marker.

I personally prefer the Ego's to the ETEK.
but thats my 2p

My 2p's worth.....
An ETEK is a fantastic marker and anyone who has used one or owned one will tell you. The only reasons it is a cheaper version of the EGO are.
It doesn't have an LCD display.
It has a microswitch instead of break beam eyes. (So do timmies and they are proven markers)
It hasn't got qev's (at 15.4 capped you shouldnt really need them) Pick at that if you want!:p
Cheeper milling
Yeah alright they have different sized insides but they are basically the same.
I have built ETEK's at PLANET and have shot EGO's for the last year and I think it all depends on your budget what you should buy.
As for 05 06 or 07 they are all basically the same marker.
Whatever you choose to buy, you will not be disappointed and the PLANET back up is second to none!
