why close a thread?

Ok, so not paintball related? What about the numerous threads in speak your brains section, cars, motorbikes, jobs just to name a few. Further more if they aren't allowed why have mods condoned them by commenting relevant posts to said threads?
Also I am not saying that posting up pics of peoples tattoos isnt a bit chavvy, however myself and I am sure a few others on here appreciate the work done as art. Having a thread with pics of what people have done, is just the same as going to an art gallery. Just the canvases are people.
Ok, so what about the other threads then, "cars" for example there are many forums websites that caters for them. Same goes for "motorbikes" and the other non paintball related threads.
Dont take this as a stand against the powers be, but surely if you have 'x' rule for one thread it should be board wide enforced?

Then again instead of locking a thread move it to the relevant area of the forum. Such as brain box. Robbo quite clearly states in his opening thread in that section that it doesn't have to be paintball related to post in that section.
These were my thoughts exactly but I'm not too fussed and can't be bothered arguing about it
But yes there is a car, job, motorbike thread
And tattoos are not for 'chavs' @Evil Rich that's pretty narrow minded of you to say that
