why do I want to link my bank account to paypal?

I've just finally given in and set a paypal account, used my debit card details and now they seem to be trying to encourage me to link my bank account to it. I only plan to use it for the odd purchase (never sell anything), is there any advantage of linking my bank account? - reluctant to give them full bank details really!

Oh and apparently my paypal account is a "premier" one - any disadvantage to this?

Yes I know - thick questions I could probably find the answer to myself!

If you don't have enough money in your Paypal to buy something, then once your account is linked you can use money from your bank to pay for stuff aswell

My account is premier too, I think... No disadvantages that I know of

with a bank account it takes a few days to take the money out of your bank then into paypal then sending it.

but with a debit card setup like you have, it sends the funds immendiately into their account than for large ammounts it takes the money straight out of your account and for smaller ammounts it takes it out of your account after a few days, but the guy still gets the money instantly
