Just been talking to the little hobbit down at PMI Europe (Jamie Brandon) and we got on to talking about Bottom Line Units. Jamie said you mean Donkeys. Now I’ve been in the Paintball Game for quite a long time and I know they can be called Donkeys but my question is WHY?

Answers on a postcard !!

But a bottom line isn't a donkey, it's a bottom line.

The think that you used to screw into bottom lines to allow you to connect a hose/quick release fitting to it is the donkey.

At least that's what I've always known as the donkey.

Used for example on a Sterling pump, when a bottom line was fitted - as the basic ones (Bronze & Silver?) had the bottle screwed directly into the back of the valve, so to go to STP type (bottom-lined) you had to put a donkey into the back of the valve, with a hose going down to the bottom line.

I still don't know why it's called a donkey though.
