X-Ball this sunday...

Looks like one of tha most famous names in tha sport won't be in tha 8-team exhibition match...There are two spots left and four teams playing off for them. BC Vs GZ in one, Lanche Vs All As in tha other.

Now who decided who plays off with who is unknown, but it looks like we could have two GZ teams in tha final 8 for Sunday.

So who's gonna make it thru? Place your bets now...

But..

these arent necessarily the franchise teams for next year correct??

And if not then who cares anyhow...Gz Gold aint getting a team so let then bask in the limelight 4 a bit...Bet Jerry feels bad 4 em so might as well try to alleviate some of the pain from em...

And are the teams pissed about this method??Couldnt PSP or Richmond have figured a way to get these teams all in for the showcase on Sunday..I mean Christ, they can get 200 five man teams to finish up in 2 days so why not a couple extra games in X-Ball??

Well, either Adam and Billy G or Ed Poorman are going to be mondo unhappy.

Big question is, seeing as X-Ball on sunday ain't worth anything, in terms of it being a display match, will ballers bother to trek over to disney and pay to watch it? Or, given that most will have had tha chance to watch all these teams playing for a real prize the day before, will they head oveer to Universal Studios and leave X-Ball a spectator-free zone?

But whats confusing is Who's calling the shots with X-Ball??Where are these decisions coming down from??Does any of this have to do with Warped's pullout from the Cup??

It seemed just a few months ago that PSP wanted nothing to do with X-Ball and now it seems like some weight is being thrown around by them??Or is this all Richmonds bright idea:confused:

You would definately get more bang 4 your buck at Universal but i cant see X-Ball being a bust on Sun..How much they charging anyway??

There's no way more teams could play - games are already cut down to 45 minute windows each.

And I'm 90% sure spectating X-Ball on Sunday will be free. It's not in the pay-complexes part of Disney.

As for who decides what - your guess is as good as mine, although I do find the conjecture running rampant amusing.

The REALLY interesting thing to see on Sunday will be how many spectators who are NOT there because of the X-Ball tournament end up watching anyway.

Like TJ said Raehl, this is just an exhibition of sorts and really isnt worth a pot 2 piss in,so they might try and fit the teams that have been pretty faithful to NPPL/PSP over the years in....

Heres an idea..Wipe the college games and let the Pros who have been there for years have a shot..Im sure u wouldnt hear to much grumbling from the players if it happened...

Try thinking.

X-Ball games at IAO took 3 hours. They've been squeezed down to 45 minutes.

There is *ONE* 45 minute college game on Sunday. It occupies a time slot to keep the proam teams from having back-to-backs in the elimination format.

It is just simply not possible to get more teams in without reducing yourself to a regular old 5-man event, and then.. what's the point?

And there was no cost to observe X-Ball in the yard outside the Disney Wide World of Sports stadium. There were also virtually no bleechers either! Not sure what they wanted if they weren't willing or able to supply enough seats for those who did come out. Most didn't stay all day as it was very, very hot and almost every decent viewing space was in the sun.
Oh, as to other visitors stopping by there were a few (as the announcers occasionally queried the crowd) but the whole Disney Sports venue was pretty dead anyway.

College X-Ball was cut.

GZ Gold was never going to play.

Jerry did cheap out on the bleachers. One of the Strange guys was doing the bleachers (he does it professionally) and Jerry said "no way in hell" when he found out how much they would cost. We ended up with crappy ones instead.

There were some kids who came to watch X-Ball who didn't see or play in World Cup at all but most were just players hanging out.

The field was put in the grass by the parking area at Wide World of Sports so the venue wasn't as impressive as some people are trying to make it sound.
