Okey Dokey..... I'm always complaining that there is no such thing as entry level paintball in the uk........so here's our plan.

Second week in August, we'll be running an under 16's entry level tourney. Format will be...... limited kit.. site rental or comparable (if you own a super gun then play in the PA :), 16's and under, 5 man half sup air, half woodland (we are after newbies, so we want a mix of both aspects of the game).
The important bit........ price: we are doing this to get new people into tournament and we want to keep it fair (no advantage for a team with more cash) so the format is: each team will recieve a crate of paint at the start of the day, then again after every third game. (a total of 3 crates/6000 rounds over nine games) this is included in the entry fee of £200 per team. This also includes full kit rental (if required) and spare kit for any markers that go down (no super guns so we are talking an even field).
Prizes: the top prize is currently set at £400 worth of paintball kit of the winners choice. The only stipulation being NO MARKERS as we don't want to put 5 spyders in the hands of newcomers to the sport. We'd hope that they go for hoppers and shirts or masks and gloves.
Trophys will be presented and additional prizes for snap shooting and "survivor" will be also be awarded.
Those in the know will see this for what it is... an attempt by a team who love paintball to get new life into the game. In addition, thanks to Colin Baxter of Top Gun paintball..... our sponsor and team mate who's making this possible. DO the maths...... we are only accepting the first ten teams, couple that with seven marshals and 3 crates of paint per team, then £400 + in prizes. This is just for the love of the sport. So, if you are interested, get in contact quick..... I'm posting this now and we only have seven spaces left. We hope to make this into a series (running every half term). In addition.....this is going to be mid week! NO TOURNEY PLAYERS, this is entry level and I know there are a lot of superb under 16 players out there...... if you've already proved yourself this isn't for you. This is aimed at players interested in tourney but who don't yet have the funds to play at our level... it will also give players an opportunity to build up the basics before requiring £1000 of marker.
Oh, location wise..... we are right next to the metrocentre and twenty minutes out of Newcastle.
Further details after Saturdays "planning meeting" ;) we are also discussing sponsorship, any additional support will increase the prize fund.

We will make this a regular thing..... a tourney where £40 gets you through the day and where a spyder/inferno/piranha is really worth having. An opportunity to learn the basics, to build up basic kit..... hoppers, gloves, mask etc.... maybe play for a year then trade up to a high end marker and find a PA/Series team to play in.
So, who's interested? PM me.

Cheers mate :) but we have Colin to thank for this one..... it's his site and marshalls. You don't get many like him. Could open up balling to a whole generation, rather than the select few who find their way into tourneys.
