...a misplaced sense of a skewed social conscience to lead them to the land of La La.
I like that statement :).

Anyway, if anyone disagrees with Robbo's post above - go and watch Derren Brown's 'Messiah' documentary. Very eye opening.

Some people may agree with my post, some may not; but I tell you this much Raff, those who do disagree better be prepared for a debate they cannot hope to win if they also believe reason and rationale should play an integral part in the quest for the truth.

Now I'm not so arrogant to tell anybody what the truth of the matter is....but I can tell ya one thing, I can tell ya what ain't !!!!

Nope, there is no such thing as the British race.
It was late I was tired :p

Scientology. Im shocked at you Robbo. The story and theories behind Scientology are well thought out and fantastic.....for the Cartoon Network ;) Evil Warlord uses Earth as a prison and then kills everyone with Volcano's. Everyone now is being infused with these dead spirits, (but only if you reach the right level that is.)

It really does sound like the basis for a cartoon or a kids novel for early teens.

Acknowledge your appology Missy, thank you.

I think Raffles post on the previous page summed it up. Everyone is born equal, black, white, yellow, blue, purple...i couldnt give a ****. All that matters is that they are a decent person.

As for someone making white jokes towards me, hey i couldnt care! Im proud to be white. Just like black people are proud to be black!

I spose what im saying is, at the end of the day, we all **** out the same hole!

It'd be a bit more on topic to rant about the oppressive reign of consumerism. We all know racism and gender discrimination isn't going anywhere: where there is difference, there is a heirarchical distribution of power. What IS relevant is that we're all being exploited through increasingly rationalised systems designed to squeeze every last drop out of us in soul-destroying jobs only to have our hard-earned cash spent on crap we don't need from a dwindling selection of franchises that force us to buy from them as the little guy is edged out of the market. Now that kind of oppression happens on a day to day basis and affects us all equally without us even caring. Let's talk about THAT

Woah, that was gonna be a joke. Oh well

Nope. Don't see the similarity of your comparison.

Racism is alive and well in Atlanta, and occupies many other southern strongholds. The elderly Black people still step down offa the pavement to let the white man pass. Segregation still exists in living memory, as do the Black Panthers, and then of course there's the assassination of Dr King, whom we remembered yesterday, just 50 years ago.
Did you read that somewhere?

There is definitely racism in Atlanta. But it is nothing like what you seem to suggest. As a matter of fact, it is completely the opposite.

For the record, I think Obama will be a good president. He says the things people want to hear and apparently motivates them. If that motivation gets them to stand up and do for themselves, then I'm all for it.

In the same breath, too many people blame past presidents for their personal shortcomings. People in the US need to take responsibility for what their personal decisions cause in their lives. Black, white, or other.

But, in reality, that ain't how we do things as of late. And if there is a president that some of these people cannot point a finger at (Obama), then maybe things will change.

I'm with Robbo. I like it when Tiger Woods says he isn't "African American". To me, that commands respect as a person and a professional. I don't like it that Obama, and more so his ardent supporters, claim that racism is such a disgusting thing, until it suits there purpose.

My biggest question, and Missy I would think you have insider info on this, is what in the hell are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton gonna do for a living now? It seems to me that they became all but unemployable yesterday.
