I gather yellow is being banned next year - before I make any more purchasing blunders like my Joy Division rotor, are any other colours banned? Pink's still allowed? And orange?

Ta in advance...

Yellow has been a 'prohibited' colour in the Millennium and PSP, the two major international tournament series, for the past couple of seasons, the reason being that the specification for paint fills was changed as a yellow fill is easier to clean yo and has a less lasting effect on venues. Therefore, predominantly yellow kit was prohibited to lessten the chance of hits going unnoticed by players and refs. If you look in the PSP and EPBF rule books you will find their respective rulings on the use of yellow accents, logos etc.

Other tournament organisers and series have their own rules and interpretations of the rule books, Your Joy Rotor may well still be acceptable. Pink and the formerly prohibited orange are indeed allowed, though I have never understood the logic of players who adorn themselves in bright, easily spotted colours, especially peripheral items such as loaders, goggles, beanies, shoes etc. that tend to stick out of bunkers and, to my mind, make them an easy target.

EPBF (millennium Series) rule book: http://www.epbf.info/ra_data/files/EPBF_rules_book_v1-03.pdf

If you are playing other series, rec sites or events, its best to check with the organiser/site owner first, you may find there are no restrictions on colour.

Hope that helps
