Apart from all the gripes that are running in other threads about attendance, value etc etc
What did you all think?
First up i wasn't playing so don't know the nitty gritty from a players point but those players that i knew that were playing didn't have a problem?
I didn't here of any parking problems like CP last year, and saw a constant amount of stewards and even police patrolling, and i'm sure the constant movement of Festival attenders helped to ward off any chancers?
The layout of the event to me seemed much better with the vendors being more centrally located to the fields.
Finally you could actually see the fields unlike CP's appalling fiasco that only allowed limited viewing thru binoculars:eek:
I felt trade stands attending were up on last year but got a feeling from vendors that business was down? Maybe it's just the same old stuff that we've all got already?
The food was a joke:eek::eek::eek::eek:
The "dining" tent was good in that it gave shelter but bad for the fact that the muppets had a barbeque running all day that filled the tent with smoke?
And as for choice? there just wasn't any and considering that this was a sports event full of "atheletes", the choice of burger or burger was a diabolical insult:mad:
Campaign Event Partnerships
It brings me great pleasure in annoucing the following Event Partners for this years Campaign Cup.

Firstly the eagle eyed amoung you may have spotted the Outback Steakhouse Logo has appeared on the MS website. I can now confirm that Outback Steak house will be providing all catering facilities on site.

This is the first time I know of where a major food chain has been the supplier of food and regular travellers to the US will be aware of the quality of the Outback's products & services.

Working closely with Stuart McDougal of Outback a varied menu has been created that includes the usually available food and also some items that Outback specialise in, all at prices that represent good value for money.

Throughout the event the Outback Steakhouse Restaurant which is very close to the tournament site will also be open. Advanced bookings for large tables are advised.

I can only hope in your defence Spike that you had never actually seen their set-up or menu?
Also "Restaurant tables" were constantly dirty and bin's overflowing, and the queue for the cack burger just really wasn't worth it. How exactly someone having a food and drink monopoly was good for the customers was beyond me?
On a plus side the cute girl serving really made it Pimm's O'clock:p

To summarise i think that the Millenium group in general had made a real effort and hope that whoever laid out the event had listened to complaints from previous years. Overall well done millenium.

Oh and one last thing, safety netting?
Did i miss something?
The spectators had some of the best event netting i'd seen in a long time?
Was the netting dubious on the players safe zone side?

Yep agree with all of that 100%, good setup in terms of trade stands, fields and parking but as I raised in the water thread food was poor at best which was my biggest gripe.

Overall for me good, but could have so easily been a whole lot better.

I thought it was pretty good - food was dodgy, little better than a burger van tbh, I'd had higher expectations of Outback.

Layout was good, plenty of toilets, air & chrono nice and close to staging area.

Well setout trade area too.

Bit of a hike to the M5 fields, but almost worth it to see all the Bas-Fest punters driving past slack-jawed looking at all the loonies with guns. :)

Weather was good too Sat/Sun....just a shame we got anally reamed in most games :D

not that i wanna follow everyone elses comments but their pretty much on the money!!!!
this was my first campaign, and would definately do it again!
i was slightly disappointed that the trade stands did very little more than normal prices apart from a few good deals! can easily get most of the deals there online!

just thought i'd say the marshallin seemed pretty good too! consistant, sure someone will disagree about the odd call!

I went as a spectator this year and have to say generally the entire event seemed to be handled well, the trade stands were situated in a good position for any visitors from the festival to get an idea of what tourny ball is and the fact it was central to the event meant that it always seemed quite busy. The field layouts were good although the CPL fields were just that bit too far away and you just couldnt see the games as a spectator. Food was, as expected, your average over priced event food and i agree that the idiot that decided to put a BBQ in a large tent needs his head looking at. I really enjoyed myself and cant wait to be playin it next year, big hand to F.e. for doin so well on their first time out and Sam, you were conned out of the yard of water mate thing, that kid blatently cheated! lol. Well done to all.

So, how many non-paintballers actually watched any ball?

I saw a few chav teenagers around the fields on Saturday afternoon.
yup same, some actually took an interest though!! nah i beleive a paintballer won it saturday, not sure though, wtf would a random chav want with a pair of grillz? as for the site i thought it was excellent only the food was a bit pricey and limited to chicken or beef in a bun haha
