Have Delta Force changed their name? Or just some dodgy ploy?

Yup........not mine though.....I had a customer on my site just the other week saying they had played at "Another" Venue in Scotland where they were charging £15 per 100, £12 is steep but £15 is just pure Bedlam ;)

problems wityh deltaforce

How else do you expect them to stay in business? Each gun they are using costs £100-150 at least, plus air/c02 system, servicing, staff payment, NI contributions, insurance, cost of the large land area, equipping said area, tax, buying coveralls, washing coveralls etc and you need to charge £5 per 100 balls to make some of the money back. I know the site near me charges a tenner a head and for a day out for £30-£40 that's not bad.
Those guns couldn't cost £150 each, they buy them in huge huge bulk to get the reductions. The old inferno's they had were probably worth about £50 each bearing in mind the amount that they bought them in (not to mention half of them were old second hand guns from different sites) and the new ones probably didnt cost that much either.

People have alot of problems with deltaforce for good reasons - for example, the sites are very poorly constructed, when sliding into bunkers, me, other marshals and even customers have sliced our knees/elbows open, because there are steel pegs holding down the slide mats - admittedly slide mats are a good idea, but they pull up when you go from grass onto the matts, and the pegs are very dangerous, i've seen various customers go to hospital after playing on that arena (i forgotten the name of it) - but im pretty sure thats not what people consider a fun day out at a paintball site.

Admittedly i think the marshals that work for the company probably have/had more of a problem with them than the customers, due to the piss take pay. I am not exaggerating when i say that one day, we had 9 marshals running a 450 person day (yes, that is how many people they took on a regular basis 2 summers ago - this is the hemel site btw), and working from 7.30am - 10pm, we got 50 quid each (the regular pay was £40 a day if you're over 18, and £35 if youre under). Excuse me if im wrong, but if you're over 18 and arent paying tax (was a student), that just doesnt add up to minimum wage of 4.85. Although not quite as extreme, this happened very regularly until about 7-8pm-ish.

Sorry if this is very biased, but this is how most people felt who worked there when i did and how things ran. Incidentally, i got fired for taking a twix from the shop  - learnt my lesson quick! don't steal confectionary - i didn't even get to eat the *******, it got confiscated before i could haha!!

maybe they've got their act together now, but i very much doubt it.

ok, we need to differentiate, many of us have a problem with DF marketing. I haven't had a problem with their sites (so far). Some of you have a problem with the actual sites.

make sure your understood people.

mmm, yeh, i think my problem was more with the treatment of employees, because apart from the extortionate costs, its actually down to the marshals to make sure the customers have a gd time - and if theyre not having a good time, then either they're ****ers, or i was doing the job badly - eithers possible hah

Would seem that is exactly what DF manage to do to most of their punters anyway.

The Green Fee, covers:
Insurance
Equipment hire
Full use of facilities
Lunch and refreshments

Extra paintballs and KY Jelly are optional extras

Right lets put you all straight.

I was working for Delta Force last year. Yes the money was crap but it was working with people who are interested in the same things as you are. The sites are hard to maintain. In the hight of summer it is very busy and running repairs are hard. The managers have people in repairing things as much as possible.

The marshall are working hard to run games and look after public safety but it is not always easy and as a mearshall you attention has to be everywhere and you cant always watch everyone. Sometimes some of the staff are not interested and its hard. Training is hard work on new marshalls and sometimes the crap ones make it through.

The guns are maintained every night but they do break and broken ones are taken away. It all cost money, the same as the insurance. The money for insurance is high and this all has to be covered. The sites are rented in some cases and thats another cost.

Thats just to fill in some people who dont understand they way punter sites run.

The two names of the company relates to two different companys. Delta Force is the sites and the company that runs the games. The other company is the marketing side. The people that annoy people in the street and ruin the image of the company they are selling for. What can you do, they are paid on the number of people they sign up. And thats why they are so pushy.

In edge hill university (next to liverpool) a seller managed to slide his way past two double door systems and break into campus! he was roaming the corridors where we sleep and stuff at like 10:30 in the afternoon and i caught him looking around while going to the toilet from the TV room.

Thing is, he was trying to open locked doors, opening peoples unlocked doors and walking into their rooms!

If these arent questionable ethics of approach to marketing, i dont know what are.

I would feel pretty pressured if someone broke into my house and asked me to buy something without permission from me. Its just wrong. Especially if this person is lying and as clean as a hobo's tooth.

when i shoved him into the TV room and confronted him, he grabbed all his cards of tickets and started selling. He told us hes from the edge hill students union, selling subsidised tickets, since the students union had paid them to sell reduced rate tickets. (i phoned them but the office was closed at that time) then he said that its the LAST DAY SALE!!! and we HAVE to buy them tonight, or thye will be full price. Then i told him that if the students union are selling them, the tickets will still be there tomorrow, unless they fill the quota and since it isnt the end of the business week. I even lied myself saying when we book paintball, the tickets remain in the office. He then **** himself, came clean and said he lied, gave us his mobile number incase we wanted the tickets.

By that time, the 60 year old security guard came and escorted him off the campus! apparently, someone called the control room while we grilled him :D

I really see why Delta Force have to change their name if this is the image they stain themselves with repeatedly, either sever connections with the advertising company who use unethical, untrained and clearly underpaid sellers with questionable morals, or get the marketing company to do better and use better methods.

Other than that, when i went to the paintball field, (obviously i didnt buy from the seller, id been in the past) i loved it. It was pricey, but its gonna be! its even pricey to play it as a hobby with your own gear! The marshals however, were brilliant, it was blatant they were employing passionate players and they were able to give a lot of good advice to people wanting to play properly.

So basically, they know their marketting methods are a bit on the shady side. So, they create another company to do their marketting, then if anyone says to DF "you're sellers are too pushy etc etc" they can say "we are very sorry, but that's not DF, that's 'insert company name here', we will raise your concerns with them."

Atleast, that's how it seems so far...
