I think I've tried most suppliers in the uk and none of them sell the palmer stablizer regulator, so I am going to have to order from the states:(

I've tried

London Paintball Supplies
Smart Parts
Fat bobs paintball
Paintball Direct

One of the problems I used to have with CO2 is that it was very inconsistant when it had just been filled. You need to give the gas time to settle in the bottle, whihc is why I used to have 2 bottles for my spyder. The expansion chamber worked perfectly well in most weather apart from the extreme cold. When you are playing with one bottle, have the other one already filled and settling down. That way, you can use the bottles on a rotation basis, and the CO2 will be fine. An anti-syphon is a must as well, and at the weekend, I would bet that some liquid CO2 got into the gun. That is always good for giving you inconsistant velocity. Hope you sort the problem out soon. Nothing worse than an inconsistant gun!

Ok will try and help - but my tipperman experience isnt vast.

The vertical ASA is standard on most guns - it is basically the point at the front of the fun where expansion chambers/regs screw in using a standard thread (eg on the autococker its the bit just after the front neumatics in line with the trigger which looks like a foregrip).

BUT I don't believe the tipperman comes with a ASA as standard so don't know if the male stabalizer will work - but you can get Palmers Stabalizer Inline which should screw straight into where you hose goes now, that will make it look like it has 2 foregrips.

I would personally try and get the female because it just replaces your bottomline so you shouldn't have to mess with the marker.

hope this helps

and on my searchs found these pages which you may or maynot have seen which may be of some use.

http://www.m98center.com/ - some good stuff in how-to

and of course the tippy forum http://www.tippmann.com/forum/default.asp

Good luck Dude.

ahh this may help just found this

I have a Tippmann model 98 with the CO2 bottle attached in the back as
usual. What type of stabilizer would I need and other accessories.

The most common setup for the M98 is a Female Stabilizer and ring mount to replace the existing bottom line ASA. No other parts of changes would be needed. Just unbolt the current ASA from the bottom of the grip, remove the ASA from the end of the hose, reconnect the output of the Stabilizer to the end of the hose. Then bolt the ring mount to bottom of grip frame and secure the Stabilizer into place. Screw in the tank and go.

I have spoken to Palmer Pursuit direct via email and a paintball shop in the USA and they both said get the Male stablizer.

The guy in the shop said I don't need anything extra for the male, just unscrew my current expansion chamber and replace it with the male regulator and connect the hose back up and away i go.:)
