Hey, i'm new to this and am looking to buy between 4 and 6 fairly basic markers to play on private land (Field and Woods) with friends. I think that CO2 bottles would be best as a local site will fill them up, 20oz would be best just to save constantly going back!
I have looked at the following deals and am wondering which would be best:

http://www.gizmos-uk.com/Viewloader Maxis RG Package.html

http://www.fatbobspaintball.co.uk/acatalog/Ready_to_Play_Packs.html - The Piranha package.

Any opinions on which package or a similar deal would be much appreciated!

Thanks. James

to be honest mate you shouldn't get any of them :) (no offence) they are poor markers and when you come to sell them you will only get like £15. Anyway you could get a spyder pilot or something like that, they are fairly good starter markers. But if you are just messing about and it is not serious paintball then i would go for the piranha package. If your serious about paintball then i would get an ion.

Filling up a bottle per week is one thing, but filling up 6 bottles is a bit much. They might fill them but don't expect it all to be freebies. Remember that CO2 has to be bought in bottles. If they also fill up air then I'd suggest you get air bottles instead. A site would be more willing to fill air than CO2.

If you want markers which will work no matter what you throw them at, then I would suggest a Tippmann 98. They just need some oil to be dropped into the slot where the cocking handle is every so oftern.

Would cost a bit more but it would mean that they will last. I'm sure you can find some ex-rental Tippmann 98's for quite cheap.

My 2 cents. :)

Thanks for the advice so far, are these markers I suggested really that crap? All i really want is ones that are slightly better than most sites. Which cheapish guns would run on air and how much would that then cost to fill up, anyone know where I could do this on the Wirral? I may buy 4 Piranhas for friends to use then 2 Tippmanns for my brother and I.
Also is the Vexor (http://www.gizmos-uk.com/Vexor Paintball Package.html) much worse that the Piranha R6, cos its a lot cheaper.

Thanks again
James

That's the Tippmann 98, I've heard quite a few sites using them. I've seen them for sale on eBay so just keep your eyes out. If you want better then I'm not too sure what would be your best bet. Never used an Inferno so I can't comment on them.

I'm pretty sure ALL markers will work on air, or atleast 99% of them. Tank cost is around £40 for a new C5 tank (0.74liter, 3000psi) and filling you could probably get free if you ask very nicely. That is of course assuming your local site uses air.

Air is also better for the markers and easier to fill. Makes for more consistant shots also.
