Need ideas....

Ever thought about making something or using a talent you have?

When I used to be a member of the Hilux Pickup Owners club they used to do yearly raffles/auctions at events for charity where people made things. Be it bottle openers, key rings, mugs or something similar?

Examples of things I made

Hilux bottle opener/keyring

Just be cafeful of copyright laws, but you'd be amazed how many raffle tickets you can sell for £2 each if there is something you can make that no one else can/has

for work i have to raise money for whatever nominated charity we are raising for that year ( typically military related benevolent funds)

its so hard to get money off people as everyone knows someone with a kid/relative with a worthwhile cause so they are being asked for money all the time for this that and the other

with that in mind I decided for people to give us money it wouldent be on the basis that we run somewhere or enter iron man or anything physical we would organise entertaining events and get people involved ....for example we had the company awards event on saturday just gone and laid on the side some roulette tables and blackjack tables it cost £10 in for 10 chips and the winner at the end won a prize and there was a prize for 2nd and 3rd place . people got involved because it was fun - we raised over £500 in less than 2 hours

the next one we are doing is a poker tornament with our own branded charity beer, £20 entry goes to the charity and profit from the branded beer goes to the charity aswell. everyone will come have a good time a few beers and the charity benefits from it at the end of the day and no one feels mugged and generally spends more than £5 which is the average donation in the office !
