Problem with Breaks. Ego or Paint.

hi.

Yesterday i went to the Northern Quarter training day (on the 22nd), i have a stock Ego, with the stock shaft barrel (cant remember if its .691 or .693)
i took about a thousand paint with me, mainly draxxus midnight, and some no name stuff i got at a rec day in bristol.

Markie C gave me a box of sterling game paint, but all i got with that was constant breaks, my bolt for the most part stayed clean so i assume it was breaking in the barrel.
the Draxxus and no name stuff seemed OK, but the Sterling just wouldnt stop breaking!

anyone have any ideas what was causing that? did anyone else have the same problems with the same barrel there??

im guessing that it was the paint, but im not 100% sure.
in whitch case i should invest in a slightly bigger bore barrel.

before i do that though..

stock barrell is 693, so paint that wont go thru that will be gash

Change your battery
Change your detents

most my chops are sorted by doing these 2 things - hope that helps

More than likely your detents as there aren't many paints out there that are bigger than 0.693

dunno but you can see sometimes more breaks with the stock ego 1 peice barrels. that or the aforementioned detents / battery issue.

the sterling game i have shot has been great, as with all sterling paint.

and for most paint over .693 being gash shot some proto once that was only just squeezing in a .693
still good paint though...

i like the sterling paint also, my battery is at half life now, might be that.

only thing that really concerns me was the bolt was pretrty clean, and without the barrel on it wasnt chopping at all..

how do i tell if my detents are naffed??

Of course it could just be that you got a bad batch of Sterling. Did any of it look really dippled, deformed or anything like that

a lot of it seemed dimpled, but 2 of my team mates were shooting ions, and they were fine.
Also, many people there were using paint supplied there also.

Mate pm me your address and I will send 2 new detents.

Even small nicks on your detents will mean they screw up. Not worth taking chances.

As scars said, 1st change your battery and if still having problems change detents. They aren't expensive and better safe than sorry.

Good idea to get some detents and change them periodically.
