The Federation would like to announce the provisional sanctioning of the NSPL in the South of England and CPPS in the North of England for 2010.

So exactly what is a provisional sanctioning?

Firstly, the Federation are now finalising a set of requirements that we expect all sanctioned events to meet. Until this set of requirements is finished we cannot give full sanctioning to anyone.

In the case of the NSPL the Federation are confident that the requirements will be met comprehensively as they did in 2009. This is obviously conditional upon a full inspection and assessment that will have to be arranged with the CPPS before they can achieve full sanctioning.

The Federation’s set of requirements and protocols is there to ensure that all players get an enjoyable, safe, regulated, value for money, accountable day’s paintballing. If every one of the sanctioned events fails in any of its basic requirements, we will then want to know about it and will endeavour to correct any shortcoming for the future.

Sanctioning events will effectively raise the bar in terms of what is required as a minimum standard to all tournaments and we feel that this in turn will raise the levels of professionalism across the board in the UK. The Federation are keen to work with tournament organisers to continue to improve and raise the standard and we fully recognise this initiative is a partnership where all parties will have to contribute; we look forward to the challenges ahead and will do everything we can to ensure its success.
