Shoreline and the UKPSF present...

A full weekend of paintball and other activities culminating on Sunday with
the UKPSF Big Game - The Sword and The Rings (formerly known as Staargate).

The event will take place on the weekend of the 12th & 13th of September at the outstanding Powerplay site near Wakefield.

The UKPSF paintball festival and Big Game is approaching its tenth birthday. From Kenny’s South Park in 2001 and 2002, to Kenny’s Staar Wars in 2003 and 2004. The following three years (2005, 2006 and 2007) was the Kenny’s Staargate series culminating in over 500 players at last years Staargate v StaarTrek. 2009 will see a new theme inspired by the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Arthurian legend.

Tickets for this weekend event will be a credit crunching £36 for UKPSF members.

Tickets for non UKPSF members will be only £40.

What's more, we will not raise prices the closer we get to the event; however, we do have a cap on maximum numbers and in previous years people booking late have missed out.

In a change to previous years, 2009 will see ALL players staging in a single staging area, plus an extra dead zone with air and paint will be located within the field of play.

We are also pleased to welcome back H-PAC as the air suppliers for this event.

This year, there will be plentiful toilet facilities (we promise!) with separate men’s and ladies loo's that will be cleaned during the event.

As ever, camping is available and there will be a wide array of traders and entertainment at the player’s party on the Saturday night. All players will receive free playing T-Shirts and prizes will be given for the best costumes.

As in previous years, we'll keep the same 'faction' format but this year each side will operate under a single figurehead.

Goodies

Duncan 'Elrond' Decorator - Leader of the mystical Elves
Alex 'Gimli' Woody - Leader of the noble Dwarfs
Gary 'King Arthur' London - and his Knights of the Round Table

Baddies

Sparky 'Gothmog' Mark - Leader of the dreaded Orcs
Eric 'Witch King of Angmar' Dark Warrior- Leader of the feared Nazgul
Al 'Sir Mordred' Murray - Illegitimate son of King Arthur and leader of the murderous Celts

Tickets are available here.

Full event schedule will be released within the next week and player packs will be issued prior to the event.

1 - done.

2 - done. We've stripped out a lot of the expensive stuff from last year (High Def DVD's, pyro etc and made the game cheaper for all the players).

3 - Already in hand.

4 - System in place to ensure that we don't loose 50% of our marshall team this year

5 - Eric is on the case

It's always been a 3k event with the exception of last year, when admittedly we got the 4.5k fills wrong.

It'll be back to 3k again this year, supplied by Hpac.

To answer your question, why 3k? Answer is that it's in line with the Air Safety Training program that is about to be widely rolled out. Free sessions will be running all day Saturday before the game.

For a more technical discussion, I'd suggest a new thread, I'm sure Wickham will jump in to talk about the science stuff.
