If you're reading this, it probably means that you're missing something other than your sanity, generally it's a thread you've spent some of your valuable time grafting into a well worded Shakespearian piece of forum space. Either that or you've repeatedly mashed your face into the keyboard and hit the submit button.

Anyway, if you're left angry and confused as to why your masterpiece has disappeared, it's probably because you broke one of the forum rules when posting up. We'll outline some probable reasons for each different section as each of them have forum specific rules.

The Classifieds:

The most popular section of the forum, often gets the most threads deleted, it could be because:

  1. Did you remember to put your country of origin in the thread title? E.g. 'Marker For Sale UK'
  2. Are you selling brand new items? Anything described as NIB or Brand New will be deleted.
  3. Selling non-paintball related goods without Platinum member privileges. If you are a Platinum member, please place it in the correct section.
  4. Selling on behalf / under the guise of a company that is not a registered advertiser
  5. Poor spelling and grammar, item description unclear? This includes Txt Speak in posts.
  6. Not putting an asking price for items
  7. Not placing threads in the right section. E.g. Running an auction in the For Sale Section, Or 'Wanted' threads in the 'For Sale' section
  8. Item appears sold. Please indicate to a moderator that an item is definitely sold for example by using the 'Report this post' button to inform the Mod team.
  9. Testing the water / Possible sale thread. Only definite sales please.
  10. Too many spam or Off-Topic posts on the thread. Keep it on track, no 'You have PM' and 'PM'd back' posts please.
  11. Suspected scam - in which case a moderator will advise.

For the full rule list and a greater explanation of why these rules are in place, please visit the rules sticky at the top of the 'For Sale' forum:

If you're still unclear, please use the Talk To The Mods section to contact a moderator.

Speak Your Brains

Another popular section of the forum that does exactly what it says on the tin, and also allows users to post up non-paintball related content on the weekends only. If your thread disappears it's probably because of one of these reasons:

  1. Thread been posted before, nobody likes reading the same stuff for the thousandth time - Please use the search function!
  2. Non-paintball related threads are only allowed at the weekend. From Friday at 6pm until Monday morning. Some threads may survive the following week if funny or interesting enough.
  3. Posting a video outside of the official video thread.
  4. Something brainless, idiotic, abusive or offensive - or a mixture of all four. If it's something you wouldn't say face to face, don't post it, as a general rule of thumb.
  5. Threads with unfounded negative claims and opinions about individuals, businesses, organisations, teams, religion, race, politics or the forum itself will be deleted.
  6. Something that may be interesting and/or funny must warn people it is NSFW (Not Safe For Work) if it has morally debatable content.
  7. Posted pornography or other unacceptable content. Remember there are minors on the forum too. (Expect a ban accompanying this)
  8. Poorly spelled, non-sense making threads with poor grammar are generally laughed at first, then deleted.

Newbies

There's not much you can do wrong in here, as most things will be tolerated due to the fact that you're new. But if one of your threads does go walkies then it could be because:

  1. Txt Speak or other incomprehensible illiterate ramblings
  2. Personal attacks and unfounded negativity
  3. Posting unacceptable content such as pornography
  4. Irrelevant content (General forum rules apply)

For the full rule list and a greater explanation of why these rules are in place, please visit the rules sticky at the top of the 'Newbies' forum:

Rec-Ball

Again, there's not much you can do wrong in here, this section is for discussing big games, scenario games, walk-ons and so on. There are however a couple of reasons why your thread could disappear:

  1. Use of Txt Speak
  2. Personal attacks and unfounded negativity toward sites, members, events etc. - Note discussion is encouraged, and if an event wasn't what you thought it should have been then by all means say so... BUT you must state your reasons and evidence for your opinions!
  3. Posting unacceptable content such as pornography and other general forum rules.
  4. Posting Sup'Air tournaments or events in this section – They must be posted in the tournament section.

Generally it's posters common sense in the Rec-Ball forum, you should know if your thread is suitable to be placed in there.

If you're still unclear, please use the Talk To The Mods section to contact a moderator.

Tournament

The tournament section is popular with players, and is mostly used for advertising domestic tournaments. There are changes in the pipeline for this forum at the time of posting so these rules are subject to change:

  1. Did you write a thread more suited to Major League Tournaments or Rec-Ball? This is the single biggest mistake, usually the mods are nice and move it to either of those for you, so go check.
  2. Personal attacks and unfounded negativity toward a tournament series, it's organiser, teams playing the event - slander, libel will not be accepted. If you have a genuine gripe, post your reasons and evidence.
  3. Not following general forum guidelines like the use of text speak or the posting of inappropriate content like pornography.
  4. Chit-chat and off-topic posts in the your thread. Generally they just get closed, but if they have little or zero useful information in, they will be deleted.
  5. If you are a tournament organizer, check that you haven't duplicated any information that could be put into the information thread. If you do not have an information thread, and your tournament series is regular, generating a reasonable amount of interest and is in no danger of disappearing immediately, then request an information thread by using the 'Talk To The Mods' board. We try to be fair to all tournament organizers, without discrimination of any series – we do paintball, we don't do politics.
  6. Excessive backslapping – it's slightly camp, and thank you threads are generally cheesy and often just turn into shameless plugging for an individual, series, business, service etc. These are generally removed swiftly if they start to annoy. If you really want to say thanks, say it in person, it'll mean more to the person.

For the full rule list and a greater explanation of why these rules are in place, please visit the rules sticky at the top of the 'Tournament' forum:

Major League Tournaments

Major League Tournaments is for the hard-hitting discussion of the NPPL, the PSP, the NXL, and the Millennium Series. These are the big leagues, and this forum is the place to go to step up your paintball knowledge and discussion. If your thread dies in here, you've done something wrong, probably one of these:

  1. Discussion of non-Major League tournaments. Sorry, but 'Jim-Bob's Backwater Swamp 3-Man' won't quite cut it here. Use the 'Tournament' forum instead.
  2. Personal attacks and unfounded negativity toward a Major League Tournament series, it's organiser, teams playing the event - slander, libel will not be accepted. If you have a genuine gripe, post your reasons and evidence. In MLT however, there is always a degree of heated and intellectual discussion, you must try to maintain it with valid points, not succumb to rhetoric or insults.
  3. Not following general forum guidelines like the use of text speak or the posting of inappropriate content like pornography. Pretty much the same across the board on this one ;)
  4. Chit-chat and off-topic posts in the your thread. Generally they just get closed, but if they have little or zero useful information in, they will be deleted.
  5. Excessive backslapping – again it happens in here. When a UK team does well in a Major League Tournamen there should be expected some degree of celebration, and of course 'Well Done XXX' threads are allowed... Just not 12 of them...
  6. Results threads – there's nothing more exciting than sitting, waiting, for a team you're followings results to be posted up – Just try to keep the results and their discussion to one thread per major tournament please.
  7. Multinational Prejudice - MLT contains a lot of posters who only frequent MLT, not other parts of the forum. They are generally our friends from across the pond, or Europe, and even include tournament organizers themselves (E.g. Lane Wright, PSP). You can learn a lot from these people, do not antagonize them with narrow minded threads and posts, and be respectful of their cultures and nation. Racism will not be tolerated.

There is currently no rules sticky in the MLT section, but follow the advice above and you will be fine. If you're still unclear, please use the Talk To The Mods section to contact a moderator.

Tactics and Technique

A fairly self explanatory forum – you can't really go wrong in here unless you are severely intellectually challenged:

  1. Thread topic irrelevant to either Tactics or Techniques for paintball
  2. Off topic discussion in threads, this goes for flaming too.
  3. Posting unacceptable content such as pornography and content against other general forum rules.

If you're still unclear if you can post in here, please ask in the Talk To The Mods section.

SYB: Media

One of the newest forums to be added at the time of posting, in here you can post up videos, pictures and a whole host of other paintball related media. There is also an off-topic media thread too for your posting pleasure.

  1. Media not related to Paintball
  2. Non Paintball media outside of the official 'off-topic' thread
  3. Posting unacceptable content such as pornography and content against other general forum rules.
  4. Massive images, please try to keep photos at a decent resolution please, and videos to a web-suitable file-size. Not everyone is on super-fast broadband just yet.
  5. NSFW – (Not Safe For Work) – Media. This 99% of the time falls under the unacceptable content guise, so expect a ban. But if it's in the 1% grey area where there is no actual implicit nudity/gore/etc. It MUST be marked 'NSFW'. We don't really want anyone on the forum getting fired do we? What a PR nightmare that would be...
  6. Repeated Threads – You may be posting up media that has been posted up before. In which case it will be closed or deleted. Please use the search feature.

Announcements, Contacts and Queries

Another one of the newest forums to be added at the time of posting, in here you can post up any announcements and questions you have for the UK paintball masses. Technically the forum is called Announcements and Queries, with a Contacts sub-forum, but let' not get into technicalities just yet. If you write a thread that disappears in here then it's probably because:

  1. Irrelevant content, if it's not an announcement, or query, it should be in another area of the forums. If you want to give your opinion on something for instance, that should be in Speak Your Brains.
  2. Contacts not in official sub-forum – If you're looking to contact someone, in there it goes. Often the mods will be forgiving for a one-time infraction and move the thread for you.
  3. Posting unacceptable content such as pornography and content against other general forum rules. Spot a recurring theme here?
  4. Breaching forum wide rules such as Txt Speak and off-topic chat. Threads have been removed for less. ;)
  5. Repeated Threads – You may be posting up a question that has been covered thousands of times before. USE THE SEARCH FEATURE – it's installed for a reason.
  6. Posting Tripe... It may be paintball related, all new content and fits within the rules, but if you post a thread announcing you got a fungal infection from playing in damp socks, then may god help you, because you deserve everything that's coming to you.
  7. Publicly posting someones personal contact details in the Contact Sub-forum. This includes email addresses, postal addresses, telephone numbers and anything else that might be considered sensitive information unless you have express permission that the mods can see. We take this seriously.

Techroom

“Ahhh, I love the smell of WD40 in the morning” : The techroom is the place for you to come and fiddle with your gear... Wait... That came out wrong. Anyway, it should be fairly self explainatory, there are only a few, but golden, rule in the techroom. If your thread/posts have gone this'll be why

  1. Irrelevant content, if it's not a techroom related question or advice, it should be in another area of the forums.
  2. Posting unacceptable content such as pornography and content against other general forum rules.
  3. Breaching forum wide rules such as Txt Speak and off-topic chat.
  4. Repeated Threads – You may be posting up a question that has been covered thousands of times before. Use the search feature – it's installed for a reason.
  5. OFFERING ADVICE ON GEAR YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT – The techroom is frequented by strange old men you wish you could take home and make into your granddad, simply because they know everything about anything when fixing stuff. Listen, learn, and don't offer dodgy advice on gear that you've never personally fiddled with.

Talk To The Mods

We added this forum as a way for you to talk to the people who actually take time out of their day to maintain the standards of the site. You can ask anything to the Gods, sorry, Mods, in here. However, sometimes threads go walkies, here's why:

  1. Rudeness. Mods are people too. Sure, they have bio-genetic armour and guns coming out of their eyeballs, but they have feelings too, somewhere...
  2. Posting unacceptable content such as pornography and content against other general forum rules. Yep, though why you'd post in here is unexplainable... pure suicide, actually...
  3. Breaching forum wide rules such as Txt Speak and off-topic chat. Threads have been removed for less. ;)
  4. Repeated Threads – You may be posting up a question that has been covered thousands of times before. USE THE SEARCH FEATURE – it's installed for a reason.
  5. Site suggestions are welcome here, we want to know what you want. If you suggestion is that the site should wake you up with a ready-made full English breakfast and do your homework for you, then prepare to be laughed at...

If you're still unclear, post up in here, we won't bite! Plus, it gets lonely at the top... Stop by and have a little chat now and again.

Platinum Members Club

Forums fit for the gods themselves, Plat Club is for the elite, the learned, and those who are willing to transcend to a higher plane of existence. Rules for the Plat Club are:

  1. There are no rules.

Seriously, short of pornography etc. anything goes in here. Post your chit-chat, discuss the price of fish or simply share the best the magical interweb has to offer. Plus maybe get a game of Call of Duty with the mercurial Beaker himself... You never know.

Informational Short – Forum Commandments

If all else fails, watch this movie, and if you generally follow those rules when you post up, then you should be on the right track:
