Unscrewing 08 Barrel

I've managed to put my front barrel section on my 08 on to tight. Problem is I can't remember which way to turn it to get it off and want to avoid tightening it even further to compound the issue.

Any suggestions on how to loosen it as well ??

normal thread left loose right tight
barrel tip is reverse threaded so right loose left tight.

Pour hot water over the joint to expand the metal and use tea towels etc, to protect your hands, as Kev said reverse threaded so turn it the opposite to undo.

if you have a pair, then some rubber washing up gloves are great for getting a better grip if it is being awkward

Tried the hot water and rubber gloves, still won't unscrew

screw the complete barrel onto ya gat by turning the tip !! once the back is tight the front SHOULD loosen !!!!

i have the same problem, just bought a barrel kit in the end

Stick it in a tub of oil. I tried everything once to get a barrel undone (rubber gloves, strap wrench, heating, cooling ect ect) leaving it in oil for a week loosened mine up.
