After some advice please guys.

Was selling a set of I4s for a friend in this thread:
http://p8ntballer-forums.com/threads/fs-savephace-empire-jerseys.154292/

A member called jakefawcett bought the I4s, paid for them into my mates account who was selling them on the 22/1/13 and then they were posted out 2nd class on the 24/1/13

I have a 'proof of posting' receipt and he paid the paypal fees, but has now opened a PayPal dispute against my friend for not sending them, even though i have proof.

I also sold alot of other kit in that thread, and had no problems at all, all buyers received the good and were happy.
Not to mention i have been buying and selling on here for over a year no with zero problems, so i cant see how he thinks i would rip him off over a measly £50..

Can add a mod to the convo if someone could help me out (y)

Refund the money to him and use your proof of postage to reclaim via royal mail. Your mate is responsible for the goods until they are in the buyers hands. If they got lost in the mail that's your problem not your buyers.

Opening a paypal dispute for an un recieved item is perfectly understandable. Don't take it personally.

Paypal would still side with the buyer. Lost in the post is sellers problem.

What so Royal Mail are just going to take my word for it, that im claiming against them, that the parcel never got to the buyer...?

You have proof of postage, buyer denies receipt, I assume you sent it non tracked? So yes Royal Mail will investigate your claim.

Unfortunately this is your only course of action. I think its something ridiculous like a month before you can report it lost though.

Oh and second class is only insured to £36 so you will not get all the money back.

Yeah proof of postage, sent 2nd class.

But how are they going to know the buyer is denying collection of the parcel?

I could send all parcels that way then just say to Royal Mail that the buyer has not received the item... and double my money..? :S

They won't just pay out. They will internally investigate first and decide for themselves whether the parcel reached it's destination.

Proof of posting is sadly not proof of delivery,
Special delivery, although slightly more expensive, is guaranteed next day delivered signed for, so therefore no agro.
Well worth sending by that method for future reference.
