Hey all, Im goin out on sunday to do some training with the team we hopefully will have a supair field to ourselves
This topic has been discussed seperatly for some time but im trying to get some sort of training routine to run through on sunday when im training.
I need to get my back guys shooting on the break with accuracy so drills moving sideways forwards standing still aiming at a barrel? a front man running around ? also need various snap shootin drills for front and back then any game variations?

Your wealth of knowledge would be much appreciated with appropriate drills and timing and equipment if needed other than the obvious ?

E.G i was gonna start off with front guys practicing there running and diving while the back players have to sweet spot the baricade

Here's a few back man drills I've done over the years. Back players also need to practice loading while shooting and shooting with either hand.

1 - Sweet spotting basics. Call game start as normel, with just your backs. Have them shoot a stationary target such as a ref shield, paint box, garbage can or a bunker. Have a spotter tell them where they're hitting in relation to the target (high, low, left, right). This helps them with moving and shooting and also judging distances. Run this over and over, moving the targets around, until your backs can hit the target fairly regularly.

2 - Sweet spotting on the break. Start the game with fronts on one end and backs at the other. Fronts break for their primaries, backs shoot lanes. If you want to be nice to your fronts, give them shields so they don't get all welty. Make sure your fronts give feedback on how close the backs were coming. This helps with shooting a lane (instead of shooting a player)

3 - Distance shooting. Have 1 back stand in the open at either end of the field and take turns shooting short streams at each other (4 - 5 balls). Move around between turns. This gets them used to shooting long distances (arcing their shots) and also seeing the balls coming at them. As they get better, have them move and shoot (walk left or right as they're shooting) or shoot at a moving target (learn to lead the target).

4 - Shoot and communicate. Team A - One back, one front with a marker. Team B - one back with a marker, one front with a target (a hopper on a stick is good). Team A has to shoot team B's target, so the A back has to tell the A front where to shoot and when. Team B back shoots the A front's bunker (or the A front if he gets sloppy and hangs out). The B front moves the target each time it gets hit. Improves communication, snap shooting and such. Give everyone a gun when you get good at this and watch the fun. :D

Here a few tips for practising snap shoting skills.

1. Try putting a 2 or 4 pint milk carton half in half out the side of a bunker and have a team member shooting at you from either the same or a different bunker.. While he or she does this try and hit the milk carton by firing a few shots at a time and avoiding the incoming paint.

2. try the same again but with variation on numbers of players and milk cartons aswell as trying right and left handed.

practice snap shooting, one on one for 30 seconds, then two new players jump into the bunkers and snap away.
It keeps the adrenaline flowing.
Play 3 on 3,

Pgi has good drills from the pros that they do every month.

Try this

We have two guys either ends of a field, area.
You can both shoot ,but you can only move forwards, or sideways , but not backwards.
No baracades between you , just using line of sight.
Then two on one.

Also have one person shoot at you from a baracade, and you have to shoot at another target, while the other person is shooting at you .
You can''t shoot at then , just the target.
Keep shooting at the target till you get it .
The other person can shoot at you and tag you as many times as he/she can .
