am I using the report post correctly?

I keep pressing the report post button to report spam posts (the ones selling diet suppliments etc), am I using it correctly or are these posts you would have picked up on anyway and all I'm doing is clogging up your inboxes?

I don't want to be making more work for you lot since you already do such an excellent job (smarm, smarm).

All reported posts go to a central location and the first mod on scene can deal with it.

The report button is always preferable, sometimes people do such things as tagging admin/moderators as either groups or individuals in a post

This can be counter productive, as it doesn't just rely on the individual picked out, but if the spam was sent as 'fire & forget' accross the internet then posts can result in the spammer getting responses and bring more spam

Report flags it ready for any of the mods with the right permission
