As I said in my first post; it seems obvious at first. Theoretically; if you fitted a 3000psi reg to a 4500psi bottle, you would recognise not to fill it over the 3000psi max as that is now the safe working pressure (SWP) of your whole system.
As Tom said, we are our own worst enemies because it isn't always qualified personnel doing the filling and as some clever chap once said; "A person is clever, people are stupid" (they hadn't met George W Bush) meaning that; at some point in time, said bottle is going to be in the hands of a muppet that will fill to the highest SWP shown on the system. TBH I haven't seen any fill jockeys checking the SWP on regs before, they always go by the bottle SWP.

I am going to make sure I get mine matched up ASAP and I advise anyone looking to sell an air system in the future make sure the SWP of the bottle is the same as the SWP on the reg
