a compressor that you have in your home will not fill to enough pressure to run a marker, (3000psi or 4500psi) if its a compressor for filling car tyres, it will only fill to about 50psi. so forget it. you would need to get a scuba diving tank and then fill your marker from that, and when the scuba tank empties, get it filled from a local diving centre.
if your marker runs on co2, then none of that matters because it is co2 you need, not air. if you contact your local co2 supplier, they can supply you with a large tank from which you can fill your smaller bottle on your marker. i think costs will put you off that though! so its probably best to cough up the $2 for a fill at your local site.
