drop forward w/ on off and tank w/ on off

if i have a drop forward and a tank both with an on/off, what does this do? i guess they would both have to be on to shoot and both off to disconnect?

the on/off on the adapter is so that if you just have a bottle with a pin valve (co2 or most presets) then this enables you to easily put on your bottle and remove it without fighting against the bottle pressure.
