how to match a barrel to paint

just got a freak with all the bores sizes...

what's the general guide for picking the right size bore?

the differences are so small between them.

Should it be quite tight ?

Pop a ball into the insert. Make sure it doesn't roll out (too big), or have to be forced in (too tight), now try to blow the ball through the insert. If it takes effort to blow it though, it's too tight. Just keep trying different sizes until you can blow it through pretty easily, but the ball doesn't fall out.

also try quite a few different balls and get an 'average'
