I Have a 2003 vert feed cocker that I've had for about 2 weeks and Im thinking about getting a new barrel for it. I just wanted to get some input on what would be the best barrel to buy. I want a better acuracy and my shots to drop a little less if possible. Im leaning toward a Dye Ultralight or Boomstick cus thats what I hear are the best. I'm also looking at at a J & J ceramic two piece. So if anyone could gimme some advice about this i would appreciate it.

Thanks
Chris

Powerlyte Scepter all the way

Go for a Powerlyte Scepter mate. I got one for my cocker, used to have both a 14" boomy and 14" dye UL and the PL is the best one out of those.

There two piece screw in, and can be bought with either 3 or 5 inserts. Bought the 3 insert one myself, and it came with a barrel bag and cost £135 inc vat, which is a real good price. A lot of people are now rating these barrels above the Freak.

Freak

I shoot a freak (14"), I own the full set, on my cocker and have been very pleased with how well it shoots. Having said that, unless you can get it second hand, the Powerlite thingy is considerably cheaper (I think).

The advantage of either the freak or the scepter is that the bore can be adjusted to allow a perfect paint to barrel bore match which is, according to the majority of opinion, a major contributing factor to accuracy and is certainly a factor in gas efficiency. To get that kind of adjustability you would need a number of traditional barrels.
