Ok, so as some of you may have already seen, the American news channel 'Inside Edition' has made a ludicrous link to James Holmes' horrific actions to Paintball. There are many Facebook groups by the paintball community that are expressing their outrage by this so I was just wondering what were peoples thoughts on this?

I think it's bloody ridiculous, if anything is to blame it's the stupidly lax gun laws in the states. The guy had 4 weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition, and all of it was acquired legally!!!

This is an excerpt from a Dark Knight Returns Novel that was released in 1986. In it, an unstable man named Arnold Crimp, who has red hair and wide eyes, shoots several people in a pornographic cinema.

Sound familiar?

The guy was just a nut job who was obsessed with Batman. It had absolutely nothing to do with paintball.

Agreed with Dan, but the government wont blame themselves for the daft gun law, that would be stupid so they blame a poster because in paintball you use markers to shoot paint at people apparently this makes people want to shoot people with real guns, hold on sorry i need to grab my AK and nip to Tesco excuse me....

But again, what is the 'ludicrus link' they have made to paintball?

There is a link between the guy and paintball, not the reason why he killed people.

All 'Inside edition' have done is highlight the paintball DVD poster possibly meaning he was interested in paintball, and go on about paintball smoke. (At least they noticed the poster was for a DVD, The Daily Mail just decided it was a video game)

Turn around the outrage bus.

Rather than run around in outrage denying any chance of the guy having played paintball consider more reasoned arguments such as this which acknowledges he could be a paintballer, but goes around it not being a motive

Have you noticed that their Firecheif unleashed the smoke in a tiny room, then said it blocks visibility easily! Well yes it would but unless cinema's are different over america i doubt it would fill the whole room up blocking everyone's view. Just my opinion on that guys.

With respect to smoke canisters... yes they can fill in an auditorium rapidly if he had the right type.... Personally I think he is a sick twisted individual who deserves a lethal injection or electric chair... he is guilty now punish him

I was more referring to the one the FireCheif used to demonstrate.
