WORLDWIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT BULLETIN

12th June 2009
Hi Customer,

WARNING !!!! Could your Eclipse Marker be BREAKING THE RULES ???

When the EGO9 and GEO were born in late 2008 the Millennium and PSP rules for Rate of Fire (ROF) were different to what they are now and thus there are some early EGO9 and GEO with older, and consequently out of date, software. We have heard too many times people say it works fine, no need to update Well, you're right unless you're playing at a tournament with certain rules. Did you know that if you have a version software earlier than Version 1.24 and set your MAX ROF to be 10 BPS (to comply with the Millennium Series rules for example) and your eyes go into fault mode (paint covering the eyes etc) your default rate of fire can increase to more than 10 BPS and if that happens at the same time the ref points his PACT timer at you, you're a cheating B*%$*&% and we don want that do we!
Some of you may already have the latest version already installed, but if you're not sure here a simple way how to check what version you currently have:

§ With the marker switched off, push and hold the center pushbutton to turn the marker on.
§ Keeping holding the center push button whilst the logo is displayed and the version number will appear on screen.

The latest versions of software are available for ALL Eclipse markers that are currently covered under warranty:

§ Geo - Version 1.24
§ Ego9 - Version 1.24
§ SL94 - Version 1.24
§ SL8R - Version 4.24
§ Ego8 - Version 4.24
§ Etek - STAR Frame Version 1.24
§ Etek2 - Version 1.43

So what are the benefits of upgrading your marker to the latest version of software? Rather than baffle you all with technical mumbo jumbo here a quick summary of the main improvements in this revision of software:
Millennium 9 and PSP 9 Preset options allowing you to conform instantly with 2009 rules by selecting the relevant option from the Preset Menu.
The MAX ROF (Maximum Rate of Fire parameter) lower limit has been reduced to 7.5 balls per second to allow users to account for any variance in the equipment that is being used to measure Rates of Fire such as PACT timers.
The SAFE ROF (default Rate of Fire if an eye fault is detected) has been reduced to 8.0 balls per second, meaning that if your Break Beam Sensor System defaults for any reason whilst playing your Rate of Fire will not exceed 8.0bps.
The FSD DLY (First Shot Drop-off Delay parameter) can now be edited and set to the users preference.
No more incompatibility issues with newer revisions of the Empire Magna RF transmitter. Enhanced Training Mode whereby the firing cycle is inhibited and replaced by a tone emitted through the speaker.
If you do not have the latest version of software, then you can get it COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE by taking your marker to the Eclipse Tech Support Booth at any of the following events over the next couple of months:

June 2009:

Grand Tour, Ukraine: 20-21st June
PSP, Chicago Open: 24-28th June
July 2009:

Paris Millennium Event: 3-5th July
Grand Tour, Austria: 18-19th July

If you are not attending the above events, or have an old Eclipse marker, that is no longer covered under warranty, with old software that you wish to make compatible for the 2009 season then you can do so by following these guidelines:
