How To Remove Your Co2 Tank
The most common cause of damaged or cut o-ring is from not properly removing your Co2 tank from your marker. Most players simply unscrew their tank and let the Co2 in their marker come out through their air adapter; the Co2 then freezes the o-ring and expands it. The adapter’s threads then cut and shred the o-ring while the tank is being unscrewed and the bottle is rendered useless until a new o-ring is put on.
When a player is ready to remove their tank he should first make sure there are no paintballs in the breach; I recommend taking your hopper completely off or you can just turn your marker upside down.
Once you have done this start to unscrew your tank and fire the paintball marker slowly but continuously until the Co2 tank is completely removed from the paintball marker. The firing of the paintball marker allows the air inside the paintball marker to escape through the barrel of the paintball marker rather than back through the adapter and ruining the o-ring.
Another way Co2 o-rings are damaged is when players decided halfway through removing their tank that they want to keep it on and screw it back on. Once a tank has begun to unscrew from the adapter don’t screw it back on; this will cause the threads in the adapter to slice the tank’s o-ring. When a player starts to remove his tank he should completely remove it to prevent cross-threading and cut o-rings. Remember, this can really ruin your tank if you dont do this properly
