Look guys, ive been reading this thread - and im a bit stumped.

It goes without saying that paintball guns are dangerous in the "wrong" hands..

However, at no point in this thread did he say he was going out shooting people and causing trouble!

When i started, i bought myself and my son a cocker and an Tippman for "messing about" at home, i have a 1/4 acre garden which i thought "cool, i can shoot at some targets at the bottom of it when im bored" and its probably safer in many respects than air rifles etc. Common sense dictates goggles before you even start...

Now, that doesnt make me dangerous now does it?!

Im very safe - and as a result of buying this marker, i went to a couple of tourneys and hey presto im competeing.

When i bought my first marker i went to a shop, and at NO POINT did the shop ask me what i was using it for, where i was going to use it, even though i had told them i was completely new to paintball and never owned one!!! (by the way, they never offered to sell me a mask or goggles :( )

So what makes you lot the Jury? Especially when judging by your registering dates, most of you have just started!!

In this guys defence, he has just bought an Ion off of me and asked a hell of a lot of questions about what's needed etc both on the phone and when he collected it, with a view of using this in his garden as he has a lot of spare area/land, which is more than most people ask! - he doesnt seem to me to be intending to shoot people or compete, just use at home - now the term "pissing about" or "messing about" does not necessarily mean hes going to shoot people and get an asbo  or get paintball a bad name (im sure a lot of people ive seen on here playing in tourneys do that already ;)) He posted on here asking for help, not pre-judgement.

This lad is old enough to know better, then again there are a lot of older criminals and idiots about and people with less common sense, but do you lot know him or his age to be able to pass judgement?

I think a lot of you should chill out and try help newcomers, even if they dont wish to compete. Not all paintball users are numptys or wish to go out to tourneys and there is nothing on the box that says this gun must be used in tourneys/walk ons. oh, and if you need to get a point across, there are many ways to do it...

Only my tenpeneth, and s4lkk, my door is always open for any advice if its something i can confidently offer.

This kind of comment sums up what i posted above - how dare you post in this or any thread with idiotic comments like that?? People like you are the problem, not the cure...

s4lkk as far as I am concerned doesnt come across in good light and I was willing to share my thoughts on the matter.
