They got a new investor but not bought out. Hedge Funds wouldn't outright own anything. They're basically groups of rich dudes who invest in companies like mutual funds.

The better rumor is DYE paintball arm being sold to GI and the new investor was needed for a cash infusion to help fund it :)

He's a pretty savy guy, I wonder if he'd just take the patents and use the DM as his gun line for GI.
