OK. I do some anodizing with Dirt Products, so I have some opinions here:

The Ion frame is milled from a cast aluminum piece. The alloy used is a 2011 or something like that, and it will not ano as nicely as 6061. The Shockers are similar. Apparently, Smart Parts uses a softer aluminum alloy so that they can run the CNC a little faster. A few seconds here and there adds up to saving a lot of money, afetr all. Shockers can for sure be re-ano'ed... not as certain about Ions. I know those grip frames come from SP with a powder coated finish, but that isn't too tough to remove. How well they will anodize is questionable. Might be ok... I haven't done any of them personally.
