another crime involving paintball

dont know if this is old news but found this today people are not giving this sport a good name

CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — A group of men used a paintball gun to attack and rob a Chinese food delivery man Monday evening, according to a police report.
The victim told police that he was delivering food to Lincoln Homes at around 9:30 p.m. Monday when he saw seven to eight males standing near one of the Lincoln Holmes buildings, the report said.
After the man delivered the food, the men used a paintball gun to hit him and then put the man in a choke hold, according to the police report. The victim said he was then knocked to the ground and kicked several times while the men ransacked his truck, stealing cash, an iPhone and an iPod, the report said.
No suspects were listed in the police report.

Not a nice story but could just have easily been a golf club or baseball bat and it shouldn't reflect on the sport. Knowing the way news stories work, it probably will though.

You'll find in the same country several homicides/muggings/beatings so one involving a paintball marker is still a very small % of the overall crimes.

Yes, it sucks.
Unfortunately, people and the media will focus on the fact that its a paintball marker. And like people above have said, more acts are committed using other sporting equipment.. But unfortunately, we have to educate people on that.

well at least the victim can be thankful it was only a paintball gun and not a real gun... you can use anything as a weapon most popular is a kitchen knife and they cant ban them. its not the object its the person wielding it.

Don't all the cops in America carry guns, i honestly think Americans have more serious things to consider than banning paintball.
