Mission Paintball back on TV

LATHAM

FIGHTIN' MACHINE™
Thing was when that was being filmed all everyone played at comps was airball. I hadn't played in the woods for ages before that show. Infact I hardly ever played in the woods.

Because paintball was seen as this woodland thing though thats how they wanted to show it. I mean even now when you say to anyone outside paintball that you play, they all still think were wanna be Rambos running round the woods with fake guns. Even other lads have normally only ever done it on a stag do, and when you show them a magazine or dvd the say 'get the **** out, thats not what I thought paintball was'.

Since I last played 3 years ago, nothing has changed with paintball and the media. Think it's cos it's very unfriendly to watch unless you know whats going on. Oh and mainly cos I've not been playing :D:cool:

The show has a budget of £35 a day 2 curly wurlys and a sneaky peak up Emily Booths skirt, On that basis it was alright. In the main we had a laugh making it. Some couldn't actually embrace the fact that is was entertainment and not really a top tournament. The idea was actually Jason Bradbury's of the Gadget show..

Memories... The Banzais and Rushers were top and really went for it. Some, namely Billy from the Rushers were, lets say, over exuberant. The Camera above Steve Wilson from the Tigers. You couldn't see his feet because of his belly.

It was scary in the hut! Very Scary.

The Rushers V Bouja Game was thrown because Bouja had to get the ferry home to Guernsey. They still actually won but couldn't so we had to lie about the scores.

The absolutely crap target shooting event. You could hear the targets about 10 seconds before they showed themselves. Pee Gee ( BAnzais) thinks he won it and not Jamie Abbot, but he tried being all clever and shot lefty.... and lost. In fact the final big award ( an ash tray) was won by Rory from Campaign Power. A miracle in itself. Its the only think he ever won.

Clivey the Campaign chef (Big Chief Sitting Duck)

Its legacy is that it actually put a lot of new players onto paintball sites and in turn hopefully as a result of this put players into teams, It was the last we saw of Rick Adams on telly.

X-Fire was the bigger budget version of TV paintball which also featured cleavage body armour. Both were one series only which relates partly to the old L!ve TV adage of 'Why make a new series when repeats are free?'. I think X-Fire was only shown the once on C4 but has been on Virgin/NTLs OnDemand.

It did have Vanessa Upton though.

I have most episodes of X-Fire recorded, and am willing to do swaps if anyone has the Mission Paintball episodes that I have missed in the last couple of days.
