Nope. Cooling the metal will only cause it to contact by tiny fractions of an inch. Enough in theory to pull the ridges of the screw threads away from troughs of the other.

Once it warms up it will be exactly as it was before.

Trust me. I teach this stuff for a living ;)

2 strap wrenches would be handy but if you've not got them available then stick it in the freezer and when you bring it out put on a pair of those rubber kitchen gloves or similar and try it again.
