I used to cheat because I felt that everyone else was, why should I be playing at a disadvantage? I never did any gun cheats tho, that seemed a bit too unsporting. Wiping and suchlike took a level of skill, not just having some guy fiddle your board.

In a tournament situation I have no problem with cheating, providing they don't try and lie or BS about it afterwards. At least then there is a certain honesty about it. It the people who blatantly cheat and then lie about it, denying profusely that they did or ever do cheat that really piss me off.

Oh, and for the record yes I cheat. If I get shot on the bump and can loose the hit on a slide I will, if asked afterwards by the shooter I will admit it and praise his shooting and probably comment on the reffing, but I wont apologise.

Do I think it's big and cleaver? No, but I know I prefer to win and if the gain is big enough and the risk small enough... You see the same in professional sports all the time.
A true and honest answer mate well done for writing it.

What this thread goes to show so far is that a lot of players cheat and are openely honest about it, and they do it because they know other players do.

My question: Do players want to see an end to it, and if so who is responsible for bucking the trend or are people happy to continue as things are.

Played and won a tourney on saturday, didn't need to cheat and generally I'm too honest and quick to take a hit anyway.

It's only cheating if you get caught some say, I say you're only kidding yourself. I'd rather win KNOWING that it's because I played better than the other guys.

i think its like diving in football, all pros would say they dont agree with it, but many have done it when they think the reward is great enough, i dont agree with cheating, but i have done it, when on the spur of the moment i have made a decision to loose a shot or to play on for a second or 2 to trade out with a guy, which im pritty sure everybody has done, knowing u got shot first but making sure u take the guy aswell is just as much of a cheat in the eye of the law as losing i shot, are people bigger cheats if they lose a shot or simply just play on with a shot on them, i dont no. plenty of people do both, Its that situatuion like spangley said is the gain worth more than the risk and players make a split second decision about it, i think to be the best in the game and compete to the highest standard you have to go into the game without being naive to cheating, the best teams will cheat to a degree and that will be part of the reason why they are the best so you almost have to match it to give yourself a chance in the game! its part of the game and people just have to accept that,

But i am a firm believer that when its your teams time to win, then you will win on most occasions, for example if london nexus turn up to a tornement and draw billy and the bollocks, who do the refs expect to win?? NEXUS of course, so were do the refs look when some one is gun fighting at the nexus player or the billy and the bollocks player? not the nexus player because they dont expect him to get shot, now its not a criticism towards the reffs its just natural instinct of the reff, of course they will look at the stronger player at times but they expect the other team to get shot,
so when your winning and everybody expsects you to win it becomes easier to win, and possibly cheat, i beleive when a lower team beats a stronger team they have do go a long way to beat them and not just match them because if all they do is match them then the favorite team generally wins!

i guess people wont agree with what im saying but its just my opinion and not gospel, :)
