First Marker for Woodsball?

Any as long as its not brightly coloured.

However, some sites (visited a few) won't let electric markers on (saves it being a paint chucking exercise) so that might be worth looking into with your local sites.

DMs and Egos are sufficiently rugged for woodsball, as they are ergonomicaly designed for paintball they are equally ergonomicaly designed for woodsball

With regards to getting around or through a bush a 'speedball' gun is again more compact then a tippmann

Tippmanns can take anything you can hurl at them, speedball guns survive people diving on them
A tippmann can keep running if you use it and abuse it, internal maintenance is good for it, but it can survive

Sites that don't allow electros typically are mixing walkons with punters, hence they limit what you can have to equalise the field and to not put off the punters

Find a local independant site that runs walkons

As @tommikka says, DMs and EGOs are very much suited to woodsball, never had an issue in the woods. Speedballers properly abuse their kit, sliding, diving and suchlike, and the markers are designed to deal with the abuse.

I think I would have to go for the DM or the Etek, don't get me wrong I do love the DAM but just think if you eventually wanted to play Speedball you would have to get another marker, at least with the Etek and DM you get the best of both

Tippman a5 or x7 mate can't go wrong

if your a beginer try out a basic gun first like a tippmann cronus unless of course you have played paintball enough times to decide you want to make it your hobbie.

Completely disagree.

Quality, second hand paintball gear holds its value pretty damn well, and a lot better than cheap new stuff.

If you bought something like a second hand Empire Axe as your first marker, played for a few months and then decided you didn't want to keep playing you would be able to sell it for the exact same price you bought it for, provided you hadn't done any damage to it.

Something like the Cronus though, you'd likely be looking at losing half of its value within a few months, and that's if you could even sell it, because there is virtually no second hand market for really those kind of really cheap markers.

Much better off putting your money into quality gear right away, you'll be better off if you decide to sell up, and it'll last you much, much longer if you decide to keep playing.

Plus a Cronus is a more fragile, harder to dismantle version of the 98 which is likely tobe the marker tthey'd give you as a rental.
