Hello all!!
Big big big THANK YOU Ansley and his crew for nice round!! Perfect job!! Thanks to my team, to "LIPS"+ "G. I. Sportz" for the paint, for all the teams( except one- bunch of freaky cheaters ), special thanks to teams who kicked our a*** and showed the weak spots. It is always nice to see You and play against You!!
The fields, the layout, the air, the live scoring- good!!
Had issues with the chrono: set fps to 277-285 at the station, on the field referee was reading 295-303 fps;
The refereeing- the worst I have ever seen!!( talking just about refs on the field I played). All of the looked like first time seeing paintball live. Had never red the rules. All they been through- short 5- 10min. briefing before games. If not, how can You explain:
- allow to start the game with the clearly visible hit and doing nothing during the game? (for two games in a row );
- allow to play with the hit, run down to the buzzer, pushing it and doing nothing?
- seeing player getting hits ( 5- 10 of them ) straight in front of You doing nothing?
- calling 1- 4- 1 and pulling the player out of the field. After asking to explain "Why?" START checking for hits and do this for few minutes.
- calling 1- 4- 1 and pulling the player out of the field. After asking to explain "Why?" START checking for hits and do this for few minutes, and finding no hits, say: "You where hit to the harness".
For some of You it will sound and look like "something impossible" to happen but it was like that. After first round I was happy to see improvement in reffing. Had to passed the second- can say nothing. After third round- looks like it is impossible to force( cant find another expression ) referees to do their job good, correct me if I am wrong:
- he will not be sacked, if he does his job wrong;
- he will be payed, doesn't matter how he does his job;
- he has no responsibility to do his job good.

At the end of the day, I am the customer, I am paying the money and buying the product- CPPS and I want to receive a product of good quality and worth of the money I payed and what I get now?

Would like to end with bright and cheerful temper, but cant. Because few individuals, who think that they are the most important figures on the field, are destroying what others are building with heart and passion. Sad.
Why don't you put your name forward to Ref the next leg, that way we can all have the pleasure of the worlds greatest Ref, with eyes everywhere in his head, who has photographically remembered every rule and sub rule in the Mills book and who is a robot so never, ever makes a mistake!

Or you could just take it on the chin, admit you got beat, take it to the head ref on the day, and concentrate on enjoying the event and consider that even if they are "new refs", they stood in the rain and mud all day, this thread is to thank Ainsley for the tireless work he and his crew do to put together an event of this size and calibre.

That is all, have a nice day :D

Just to throw in a few positives from the day, hopefully you all noticed our new scores system on the big screen (which all go live into the website). We're now working on the mobile site so the website works well with all the latest phones......so you'll be able to see the scores/schedules/seedings on the day from the tent you're stood in, with no need to even wander up to admin.

From an admin perspective, we hope to have our player/team register ready on the website for the next round, so all rosters will be done online. These can be edited by yourselves in time to show your website/facebook pages and links to any sponsors. We have lots of exciting things planned for this section of the website, all of which will be revealed in due course. We now scan all of our score sheets on the day as they come in and catalogue them all as a reference to our online data. We want to create a "history" for our sport, so that matches don't just become a thing of memory and legend.

Parking seemed a lot better from my point of view for this round, no one stuck etc. It's a shame we had to move the trade to the top, but sure you can all appreciate why we did it. Hopefully by the next round we'll be baking in the sun, and the trade area will be moved back to it's original position (and extended)!

Another great round even with the mud and wet stuff. Had fun losing my voice coaching our D1 and D3 Teams all day. I only just got out the car park myself but I did make it without getting stuck so all good. Only point I have that may need looking at its on the sideline for the D2/3 field there was a lot of standing water and it got very muddy. Maybe needs some hard standing going in there and something to improve the drainage? Also as I mentioned to ains on the day the walkway between the D1 and elite field got a fair bit muddy. Overall nothing that cannot be fixed.

On the reffing side of things yes I did see some mistakes and missed calls. It is easy to see from the sideline with a different perspective. Overall thought reffing was very good. At one point I learnt some things from watching them :)

Onwards and upwards for round 4 now :D

Well done for Round 3 guys :)

The site is improving all the time and its great to see!

I would like to make one suggestion and this would be that there is a dedicated presentation area for the end of the day. Somewhere that has the podium and some promotional bits from the sponsor of the event. Round 1 set the standard, and in my opinion round 2 & 3 were a bit disappointing. I understand the weather played a big part in the difference, but a dedicated area would be nice and the media guys can get some great shots of the winning teams :)

Also, would it be possible to make known what the sponsor of the event is going to offer as prizes? Again round 1 was an awesome lead in, and a £5000 prize pool made known by Dye got everyone buzzing, but round 2 Celtic gave people flip flops and hats which was a bit of an anti climax, round 3's prizes by GI sp looked good, but nobody knows what's happening. I know we're all there to enjoy the day, and 99% do, but a little carrot to the teams can make them push that little bit harder :)

Once again a big thanks from me, and keep improving CPPS and the standard of British Paintball!

Cheers,

Jason

I have to disagree with the prizes being known before the event, i like the surprise of not knowing, im just happy that we have prizes at all, first time we have had them for a long time.
Also you run the risk of teams sandbagging for one event if they deem the prize worth it, thus spoiling it for other teams.
I agree the drain system could be improved there was a large amount of water collecting in the staging area's, however the weather was a joke.
But i have to say this is the first time we have had a paintball event season long that looks and acts so professional, i think cpps could host millenium if they needed to and have no problems.

Thanks to all involved players and staff for a great weekend just gone.

I think all referee's have a responsibility to do their jobs well, as they're helping to improve the overall UK paintball games, and yourself, as a player.
I love to see that!!
Tell me just one simple thing, if You got sjot and still playing- You got 1- 4- 1, if You wiped the hit- You get 1- 4- 3, if referee does s*** job what he gets?? ;)

You don't understand what I am trying to say or just... ;)
Why I don't do referring? Because I haven't been trained to do that, but as a player, it is my duty to know them. If You play fair, You play by the rules, I am expecting reffing same way. If You signed up for reffing, it is YOUR duty as a referee to know the rules and follow them, the weather, the time You spend on the field CAN'T BE an excuse. The players are on the same field, in same weather and all day long.
And about my chin.. You are more then welcome to the "Peacock Academy" to test Yours, if You have something between Your legs;)

Firstly the CPPS has got to sort the weather out. I don't think a bit of sunshine is a lot to ask for. The CPPS has committed itself to improving event by event yet the weather has only got worse event by event. Ainsley please rectify this for round 4. :)

On a serious note though, well done again guys on another fantastic event. I felt Div 1 had improved yet again. The buzzer and sound system worked really well in my opinion and the turnaround between games and the rotations were kept moving quickly. I thought the refs seemed to have a really good system of getting the feild chronoed and keeping games flowing. Also was really nice touch that the feild ultimate and timekeeper kept us informed of progress in the other match in the rotation so we didn't get caught out if it finished quickly.

Car parking was far better this time. Just one small niggle is that someone was allowed to park in a really stupid place near the hard standing on the grass which was the main exit for people near where I was parked which meant we had to drive right down to the far end and back up to get out.

Big thank you to everyone involved in organising another great event. Thanks to all the marshals for your often thankless hard work all day. Div 1 seemed to run really well. Thanks to all the teams we played on Sunday. Div 1 is a super competitive division with just about any team capable of beating any other. In particular a shout out to leathal bizzle who we played in the 3/4 place playoff. Was a great game played in a great spirit and was a lot of fun.

Thanks to all our sponsors. Planet Eclipse, LIPS, GI sport and paintball pictures. We were really pleased with another 3rd place while we continue to rebuild and strengthen our squad this year. Can't wait for round 4.

Cheers Craig P - Team Kinetic
