My opinion, for what it's worth...

I realise this post is OT, so apologies to the mods.

We should not be criticizing an up and coming team for having the balls to rock up to the Millennium in their first season.

Considering the rate at which teams have been splitting up in the off season, i'm pleased to see some new blood coming through.

Any team looking to play paintball at a serious competitive level needs solid financial backing.

If that means supplying good kit to players then so be it - then they can just concentrate on playing the best they possibly can without worrying about how they are going to pay their paint bill.

For the record, I have no connection with the Hurricanes, I just think we should give them a chance.

Give them time, they will work any problems out.

:)

Right, let's move on from the Hurricanes and get back to the general nature of the thread.

One thing though - having mutual support between teams in massive. Going to event and loaning gear, potting up, carrying paint, it makes you feel part of something bigger and play harder/longer/faster/with even more heart.

Screw the haters, get behind whoever needs the support and ultimately we all win.

Dont know about 10th Team

On a slightly OT point - Big thanks to Hurricanes for loaning Shock there pots for the Sunday Club as we would have been shafted had Matt not come through and best of luck for the rest of the season.

Im not gonna lie, im surprised there's been nothing of a mention of Wolf City Union.
Its been a while since I knew their ins and outs, but they've probably still got over 20 people playing for them throughout different divisions. I can only think the reason for them not being as noticed is because they dont put out their better squad at the more regular events like we did years ago.
They have done just like the Hurricanes (sorry to bring it back up) and gone in over their heads, im sure they will be the first to admit it after Malaga, but they wont lie down and admit defeat for sure. I would put them in over some of the picks which have been thrown up so far and especially if they survive this season in the SPL, they'll be stronger than a good number of the teams in the UK

who are Fe?

i'm guessing i know the team but not the abreiveation:eek:
Just called Fe (chemical name for iron)

They are a very talented team from Messingham, Lincolnshire.

Play Masters sometimes I think, and came 3rd in Div 2 Campaign Cup last year.

I'd agree that they should be on the list aswell.

Regarding the comment about top 10 teams talking - I can only speak for ECI but I have either been in contact with or have scrimmed with the majority of teams in anyones top 10 prior to the first millennium and will be setting something up prior to the 2nd millenium. Regardless of what you see on P8ntballer, teams do talk.

Outside of that, everything can turn on a dime in paintball. Predictions for 2009 are a long way in the future! Surviving to the end of 2008 could be pretty tough for a lot of teams.

Lastly, fair play to anyone who steps up and plays the MS - this is the series that defines teams.
