hand on heart i can safely say i have never cheated:eek:and i can safely say that my team mates don,t either
reason being is we feel if we can,t beat you without cheating why play
plus we play for bullies site team and have tracy paint as our boss so if we did cheat we would get our balls handed too us on a plate:)
if you cheat you are proving that you ain,t as good as you thought
so why do it just get better at playing
this also comes down to respect, if you can,t respect that a team is better than you
you will never get better

I have known players of your ilk and I can do nothing but respect them [and yourself] and wish our ranks were filled with such people but alas, we have what we have, and we try to do the best we can when writing the rules that govern our sport.

The worst thing that entered our sport [in my opinion] was the designer cheat not just because it meant this cheating scum deliberately went about their cheating in such a methodical way but because some manufacturers were 100% complicit in those cheats.

Some manufacturers actively complied with supplying cheat boards for their factory teams ... this is just sick in my opinion and just shows the mentality of some of the people who festoon our sport.

One of the things I shall always be proud of was my resistance in allowing designer cheats to be adopted when I owned Nexus in those early years but I tell ya one thing, I was soo sorely tempted to go over to the dark side after going out time after time against Yank teams and getting hosed off the field .. but even if I had made that decision [which I thankfully never did] Ledz would never have gone down that road and allowed his Egos to be modified.
I fear people like Biscuit and Ledz are a dying breed within our sport ....... we look toward the top end of our sport as aspirational but what do we really see?

Cheats who occasionally play fair???

... or is that much like describing a thief as somebody who's honest all the time he ain't nicking?

Makes ya think .....

could cheating be stopped by the team sponsers
by telling teams that they don,t want their products associated with cheats
dow,t it will ever happen as people only see the results
if that shows that their team came first nobody cares as it sells their products
and at the end of the day that,s all that counts, the almighty dollar

In a word, 'yes' .... that's as long as the sponsor package involved a significant worth to the team involved, and of course it would be handy if that sponsorship involved the markers themselves.

Unfortunately whilst some unscrupulous manufacturers were complicit in design cheats, the majority, if not all the others merely turned their heads ... and defaulted to a passive approach to teams cheating .... mind you, once a minority of manufacturers had decided to go down the road of complicit cheating then it pretty much set the scene for all the others in forcing them to turn their heads.

It would have been a brave man to have try and set an example and watch your marker sales plummet like an Essex chick's knickers on a Friday night .. weren't gonnna happen I'm afraid.

I remember that time when Nexus, Jags, Sharks etc used to train together and we all turned up with Alias Timmies and Nexus were still shooting e-blade DC2s. The look on your face was something of a picture when you could see horizontal beams of a paint coming out of Beakers gat. All straight out of the box "un-modified guns". If that's how guns were to continue coming out the factory, you do have to wonder where the arms race would have ended up (although my Dark Alias could already do a pretty good impression of a Dremel on full tilt).

From a ref's point of view, I have no problem with wiping, playing on, hiding hits etc. BUT, what does piss me off hugely is the gun cheats. Why? Yeah the sport is now played at warp speed, but so what? Remember when ramping was first introduced, at 15bps? All those players out there who proudly claimed they could easily rip 22bps+ from their gats, were actually shown up as bloody liars who'd been using cheat boards all along. As it turns out, 15bps was eventually deemed too fast and cap rates reduced, allowing play to open up more. It makes me piss my sides when you think back to all the braggards who had the fingers of an angel, jeez their wives must have been grinning like Cheshire cats ;). They were all shown up as lousy cheats and nothing more. In the States we even caught a VERY famous player who insisted on using such crap in his gun each and every single point, but we caught him every single point too and his team mates benched him, cos they got sooooo pissed off with his actions that they were shipping points faster than Usain Bolt, due to it being the days of a 10 minute gross penalty. But he at least showed us respect for having the nous to approach him and actually pull his gun for it. Until some small technological miracle takes place then designer cheats are gonna be sooo hard to catch, the proof being that they are pre designed to simply stop after a set time of kicking in.

As for wiping, it happens and although I'd prefer it if no facker wiped, the sad matter is that everybody has done it...EVERYBODY. Well maybe except Biscuit, cos I know just how vicious Tracy Paint could be hahaha. All I ask as a ref of some considerable experience is if you get caught, please don't question my parentage, or slander me with ridiculous comments that I am averse to fellating farm animals. Just show me the respect for being in the right place at the right time and catching you in the act. And if I don't catch you, then dude...you are the prime example of what a man is, you the man!!! But bearing this in mind, I caught a player wipe a coupla years back and duly pulled the 3-4-1. When his teammates screamed why, I calmly pointed to the offending guy and just said "ask him". Ironic though that the verbal player bragged about losing at least 3 hits on my field (despite only playing the 1 game there and it being the first 30 seconds of game time!!), so I praised him and then told him that the 1 wipe I did catch actually ruined his team's whole season and cost them quite a bit in prizes for their efforts. So, before you try it,just ask yourself if it's really worth it, 9 times out of 10 it isn't and you're only playing for a glorified paper weight.

As for the comment about maybe sponsors taking a stand, there was a team playing in the PA who were actually told by their sponsor to argue every decision and penalty. Why I don't know, cos all that will do is instantly get you playing against a team AND the refs every time you show up to a field. It's stupid and counter productive cos you just earn a rep as a bunch of cocks, no matter how good a player you are. It would be great if sponsors outed such rectal matter, but sadly they do turn a blind eye. Now I'm not blowing smoke up their ass, but the ONLY company I could ever see doing what is right is our very own Planet Eclipse, genuine to a man,or woman and always say it like it is

I get blamed all the time for running a hot gun and everytime i get a chrono it's running about 290 :D

I once shot a guy in the back of the hand from about 10-15 feet and made his hand bleed. At the end of the day thats not may fault how hard proto paint is.
